Karna is a copy writer and publicist for UCSB Arts & Lectures, one of the Central Coast’s most prestigious arts presenters. For nearly seven years, she was a staff writer at the Santa Barbara News-Press and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. She believes Santa Barbara’s thriving arts and cultural scenes make it an irresistible place to live.

Gretchen Hewlett, Secretary

Gretchen Hewlett is a 1976 graduate of UC Santa Barbara and has lived and worked in Santa Barbara for 43 years.  She is currently Development Director at the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College where she’s worked for 15 years and been a champion of the fine and lively arts on campus and in the wider community.

Darla Bea Smith hosts “Rock It Properly,” a School of Rock-themed radio program that airs every Sunday on KCSB-FM. You can also find her DJ’ing at local events and venues. She specializes in Public Relations and Online Marketing.

Kerry has been writing about the arts in Santa Barbara for over 12 years. Along the way she has been a board member and officer of Santa Barbara Beautiful and the Santa Barbara Sculptors Guild. A sculptor at heart, she also enjoys singing and appreciates an array of performing arts.

A publisher of community periodicals for the past 29 years, Mark holds a PhD and MA in Mythology, a BA in Education, and a certification in mediation. He has had a life long interest in music and continues to enjoy playing the violin.
