Gretchen Hewlett is a 1976 graduate of UC Santa Barbara and has lived and worked in Santa Barbara for 43 years. She is currently Development Director at the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College where she’s worked for 15 years and been a champion of the fine and lively arts on campus and in the wider community.

For nearly seven years, she was a staff writer at the Santa Barbara News-Press and a member of the Society of Professional Journalists. She believes Santa Barbara’s thriving arts and cultural scenes make it an irresistible place to live.

A publisher of community periodicals for the past 29 years, Mark holds a PhD and MA in Mythology, a BA in Education, and a certification in mediation. He has had a life long interest in music and continues to enjoy playing the violin.
